Pol Roger Rose Brut Vintage 2012, 75 cl

Regular price £74.99
Pale raspberry with fine copper glints. The nose is opulent and well structured, with red berries and a rich spicy depth. Taught, with a refreshing backbone of acidity, that rounds out to a sensation of bursting redcurrants. A lively finish that is impressively long. Savour now for freshness or keep for many years to come for a richer and more opulent wine. Read more.

Description
Champagne Pol Roger has been producing exceptional champagne for over 165 years. To this day the house remains small, family-owned, fiercely independent and unrivalled in its reputation for quality. Indeed, it is this quality which brought about Sir Winston Churchill’s lifelong attachment to Pol Roger, who famously insisted "In defeat I need it, in victory I deserve it"
Tasting Notes
Pol Roger does not make a non-vintage Rose, preferring to release only in vintage years. The Brut Rosé Vintage 2012 is produced from a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay drawn from some 20 Premiers and Grands crus on the “Montagne de Reims” and the “Cote des Blancs”. In order to obtain its delicate colour and subtle nose 15% Pinot Noir, from selected vineyards in Bouzy, Ambonnay and Cumieres, is vinified “en rouge” and added to the blend prior to the second fermentation.

French 75 Recipe
We've all been there. You receive a bottle of sparkling wine as a gift and it's fair to say you're less than impressed. If that's you, you might be looking for a quick and easy cocktail to transform your fizz into a sweet and zesty delight. The bonus is, it's a super simple recipe with just 4 ingredients, so it's the perfect quick win to impress guests. Gin AND fizz?! In one cocktail?! Hell yes to that. The classic French 75 brings two of our favourite bevs together in one drink, and you can swap champagne for any sparkling wine. The French 75 is a classic, a drink that dates back to World War I. How's this for a fun fact? The cocktail is named after a 75 millimeter wartime field gun - but hey, we know you're not here for a history lesson. Keep reading for how to make the iconic cocktail.
