George Dickel Bottled In Bond 11 Year Old Whiskey, 75 cl

Regular price £128.99
George Dickel Bottled in Bond Tennessee Whisky is a limited release whiskey that joins the company’s other standard whiskeys, George Dickel Classic No. 8 and George Dickel Superior No. 12. The company also has a large single barrel program for retailers, and also sells their whiskey to numerous companies and non-distiller producers. Like the other large Tennessee distiller Jack Daniel’s, Dickel uses charcoal filtering, which they claim mellows their whiskey and creates a smooth mouthfeel. To be labelled Bottled-in-Bond, the whiskey must be the product of one distillation season and one distiller at a single distillery, aged in a federally bonded warehouse under U.S. government supervision for at least four years, and it must be bottled at exactly 100 proof. Additionally, the Bottled-in-Bond label must clearly identify the distillery where it was distilled and where it was bottled, if different. Read more.

Description
Thus, Geo. A. Dickel & Co. was born and when the Cascade Hollow Distillery opened in 1878 in neighboring Coffee County, George Dickel bought a large share. George Dickel followed in the Scottish tradition of spelling whisky without an “e.”
George Dickel preferred whisky made in the winter months more than summer months because he felt it made the whisky taste smoother, so the company began advertising their Geo. A. Dickel’s Cascade Tennessee Whisky as “Mellow as Moonlight.” This is why our whisky is chilled before undergoing the charcoal-mellow filtration known as the Lincoln County Process. This extra step smooths out the flavor and we’re still the only Tennessee distillery to do it.

The Bottle Club Sour Cocktail Recipe
With thousands of different bevs on site, and millions of potential cocktail combinations, you can imagine just how hard it was to choose one to crown the official cocktail of The Bottle Club. It required hours and hours of researching, tasting, mixing, and tasting a little more. Thankfully, our Head of E-commerce Tim found the drink we'd been searching for when he was in Canada, and was served this delicious twist on a New York Sour. The cocktail was that flavourful, the bartender thankfully wrote out the recipe for us on a napkin, and Tim brought the recipe back to our team. The Sour Cocktail is versatile – whether you decide to switch up the Whisky, sour or sweet element, the end result will almost always be delicious – just remember to stick to that golden ratio of 2 parts Whisky, 1 part sour and 1 part sweet (but hey, if your personal preference is different, you do you!). If you’re after something sweeter, bourbon or brandy are both great options. Prefer a smokier sour? A scotch will be your go-to. When it comes to the sour substitution, lime is a more subtle option if you find lemon too overpowering, alternatively you can opt for a sweeter pick like orange or a more savoury choice like grapefruit. And when it comes to the egg white and no egg white debate, well, it’s completely up to you!
