Founded by former ballerina turned whisky entrepreneur, Allison Parc, Brenne was started with Allison's small life savings and a big dream to show terroir (a sense of place in the smell and taste) is possible when making great single malt whisky. She created Brenne from seed to spirit, with a third-generation Cognac maker at this family farm-distillery in the heart of Cognac, France. First released in New York City in 2012, the award-winning whisky embodies the elegant nature of its French terroir and brings a completely new style of French single malt whisky to the rapidly emerging world whisky segment.
Brenne Estate Cask French Single Malt Whisky, 75 cl

Regular price £49.99
An unusual dram from France, twice distilled in the copper alembic stills normally used in Cognac production. The Cognac theme is further continued in the whisky's aging process, as after a period of maturation in new Limousin oak barrels it is then finished in Cognac casks. The result is a single malt with intense notes of apricot, banana, rose, vanilla and bubblegum. One for those with a sweeter tooth. Read more.

Whisky Sour Recipe
The Whisky Sour is versatile – whether you decide to switch up the Whisky, sour or sweet element, the end result will almost always be delicious – just remember to stick to that golden ratio of 2 parts Whisky, 1 part sour and 1 part sweet (but hey, if your personal preference is different, you do you!). If you’re after something sweeter, bourbon or brandy are both great options. Prefer a smokier sour? A scotch will be your go-to.When it comes to the sour substitution, lime is a more subtle option if you find lemon too overpowering, alternatively you can opt for a sweeter pick like orange or a more savoury choice like grapefruit. And when it comes to the egg white and no egg white debate, well, it’s completely up to you!
