The folks at Sipsmith use the word ‘gin-aissance’ when talking about their early days, and we believe a little bragging is justified in this case – Sipsmith’s brand new copper gin distillery was the first of its kind to be installed in London in over two hundred years. Up until that time, an old English law had prevented giving out licences to small gin operations – Sipsmith fixed that with relentless campaigning until their garage distillery was allowed to flourish. Word of Sipsmith’s beautifully balanced gins then spread like wildfire, and before long, the brand blossomed into the popular and respected outfit we now know and love.
