Maker's Mark
Today, the folks at Maker’s Mark craft their Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky by hand, just the way they always have.
Maker's Mark
It all started in 1953 when Bill Samuels embarked on a quest to recreate a 170 year old bourbon recipe… a recipe he accidentally set on fire almost immediately. Lesser men would have quit, but Bill knuckled down, eventually landing on a revolutionary idea. He scrapped the traditionally used rye grain - with its fiery bite - and swapped it out for the much softer red winter wheat. This gives the bourbon a pleasantly sweet, creamy profile. Bill’s recipe remains unchanged to this day, and is the reason Maker’s Mark is a firm favourite among bourbon drinkers and mixologists alike.
