Clase Azul

Clase Azul Artisan tequila embodies a profound reverence for the beautiful land of Mexico and the ancient traditions of its indigenous people. Each one-of-a-kind ceramic decanter is handmade by one of a team of 350 artisans working from within the small Mexican town of Santa Maria Canchesda, in the state of Jalisco. Led by master artisan Angel Santos, they represent the Mazahua people and carry the torch for their ancient techniques. It is their wish to maintain a strong connection to their ancestors through the elemental work of ceramics, an artform inextricably linked to the elements: earth, water, air, and fire. “To encompass the value of life as a work that surpasses time.”

Only the finest organic blue agave is used in the making of their famous reposado, while wild cenizo agave is gathered for the mezcal. Aged at least six to eight years before harvest, the agaves are cooked in old masonry ovens, where they reveal their core sweetness and aromatic complexity, before long slow fermentation and masterful distillation produce the base spirit. The final stage before bottling is barrel-ageing, which occurs in a variety of used wood vessels, from bourbon casks to wine barrels. You’ll find these truly unique products in our online shop.
