Do you like raspberries? Chambord is a 16.5% abv raspberry liqueur modelled after a liqueur produced in the Loire Valley of France during the late 17th century. It was first created by François Guy, an alchemist and distiller, who worked for Louis XIV at his Château de Chambord. The drink was then commercialised by Alexandre Le Grand (1676–1741), son of Guy's successor to his post as distiller for the King at Versailles. The black bottle with its gold fleur-de-lis emblem and bright red contents has become iconic – it’s been featured on TV shows from Sex and the City to House of Cards, not to mention films such as Bridget Jones’ Diary and Ocean’s Twelve. In fact, we think it looks so good that we even sell empty bottles online too!
