The summer conflict Rosé or Gin? Well now that summer is officially upon us, that choice has been made a whole lot easier thanks to those down at Chapel Down. Whilst they are traditionally known for their award-winning English wine, the Kent-based vineyard has just entered the gin craze with a new hybrid - pinot noir gin!

Yes you heard correctly, wine-gin is now a thing, and with the increasing trend of hybrid drinks, we can expect to see a lot more of these new innovations popping up!

The pinot noir gin is the third addition to Chapel Down’s premium spirit range and is made from distilled pinot noir grape skins, blended with English wheat spirit, ‘with delicate aromas of red berries, perfectly balanced with a juniper-led palate and citrus finish’.

BUT WHAT IS A WINE-GIN HYBRID?

Ok, so the idea of wine and gin combined might seem like an odd (and potentially lethal) combination but rest assured there's more than meets the eye with this wine-gin hybrid.

Produced using the skins of the same grapes grown to make Chapel Down's sparkling wine, it is then blended with wheat spirit to create the worlds first wine-gin hybrid! Resulting in delicate aromas of red berries, perfectly balanced with a juniper-led palate and citrus finish’.

We don’t know about you but we can’t wait to try it! New summer tipple - SORTED!
